Fight for Focus

In high-demand environments, not all priorities carry equal weight, yet many compete for the same time and attention. Taking a strategic approach to evaluating priorities allows leaders to move beyond urgency-driven decisions and focus on what will create the greatest impact. This process creates clarity, alignment, and more intentional use of time and resources.

01
Define your priorities
Name up to four priorities and describe the task, resources needed, and obstacles.
02
Score each priority
Rate each priority across 16 questions covering urgency, impact, timing, and complexity.
03
Review your results
See section scores and a full breakdown to guide where your focus belongs.

Step 1 of 3

Define your priorities

Name up to four priorities and describe each one. At least one priority is required to continue.

Step 2 of 3

Score your priorities

Rate each statement from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree) for each priority.

Step 3 of 3

Your results

Review section scores across all priorities to identify where your focus will create the greatest impact.

What the scores reveal

16–20
High
Strongly aligned with this dimension — highly important, urgent, or actionable.
11–15
Moderate
Some relevance, but may not stand out as a top driver or immediate focus.
4–10
Low
Limited alignment — lower urgency, importance, or readiness for action.

How to use the scores

  • Use the total score across all four sections to compare your priorities — but avoid relying on totals alone.
  • Look at individual section scores to better understand each priority:
    • Is it important but difficult to execute?
    • Is it easy to complete but low value?
    • Is it time-sensitive but competing with higher-priority work?
